There is nearly a study for everything. And sometimes the study finding seems so simple.
Is 20 minutes at the park all you need to do to boost your own happiness? That’s what this researcher concluded.
In reality, it is not all that simple. The park, and 20 minutes, are not going to make the car payment and debts go away. Still, the natural Vitamin D is essential to the body. And the park is a place to let go of all the worries. Even if they are right back in your face later in the day, that time in the park can be a recharge. The freedom of simply looking around.
Moreover, that experience at the park, goes with you. The memory that is implanted. You can go back there later that day. If only in your head. The personal therapy does have a lasting impact.
Still, most studies have an agenda. There is a reason the study has been selected and a donor or financing supplied for the work. In this case, the study goes on to conclude we must have more parks in urban areas. Hardly a controversial concept, but certainly something to think about. Next time you are at the park.
