You might not say something racist. You might not do something racist. Indirectly, however, the right Democrats can detect the subtle, indirect ways in which, actually, you are racist. AOC. She is able to detect this racism. And she isn’t a racist for calling people that are not like her a racist. Because she is a Democrat. As this video explains: Democrats can divide people into racial groups and other categories of division because it is a way to either and both define some people as good and other people as bad. And this is not racist, because again, it is a Democrat. And you have to get the nuance like they get it. They know you are a racist. And they know they are not. They know certain people are racist and it helps them, and their followers feel more comfortable about themselves. If other people are the racists and you aren’t a racist, well then you can feel pretty darn good about yourself! Like this! If Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had her own self-awareness (could talk about the truths of her own parties past, and could talk about the truth of how rich and capitalist her own lifestyle is and has been) then maybe America could up its game and have grown-up conversations about these real topics. Everything doesn’t need to be filtered through the lens of ‘how can this viewpoint help my political party.’ A lot of this truly recreation of the past through certain filters and the throwing around of loaded-emotional words is going to lead to a total breakdown in the ability to have any conversation at all. Words themselves will start to lose their meaning (as one comment from the first video link points out: when Democrats throw the word racism around as a lump sum for this and that and every different group of people that don’t vote for them, the word ‘racist’ starts to lose meaning to be used in contexts where it is still needed. In other words, are there shades of truth within just about any statement? Yes. But that does not make the whole paragraph true as one side wants to portray. And with that, the other side is just left spinning in that there is a slight ability to be ‘yeah, see part of that point’ but we aren’t able to have a conversation. In these cases, the Democrats are defining their one point of view that all Democrats are supposed to have regarding the entire subject of Ronald Reagan. A true awakening is possible if you can have progressives that can start seeing through the hyped-up, made-for-TV Democrats like AOC and start having deeper conversations with ALL people as respects the underlying issues. Republicans are the same way, talking to their base and lead them around without ever addressing the underlying issues that this country desperately needs to turn attention to. Look at yourself. And look at the neighbor you are talking to and try to see where they are coming from.
